Donald McIntosh

(Western District and Archdiocese of Glasgow) Born at Braemar, 14th March 1845, the son of Angus McIntosh and Anne McKenzie; left for Scotland, too young for ordination, 16th June 1867, and ordained a priest in St. Andrew’s, Glasgow, 19th March 1868; died in London, 22nd March 1917.

Report of the ordination of Donald McIntosh in the Scottish Catholic Directory of 1869.

The Rev. Donald Macintosh was born in Braemar, Aberdeenshire, 14th March 1845; entered Blairs College 9th July 1856, and was sent on 25th September 1858 to the Scots College, Valladolid, where he completed his course of studies. Having returned to Scotland in July 1867, he received Tonsure and Minor Orders on the 25th, was ordained Sub-deacon on the 26th, and Deacon on the 27th, November of the same year, in St Andrew’s Church, Glasgow, by the Right Rev. Dr Gray; who raised him also to the Priesthood in the same church on the 19th March 1868. He then returned to resume the position of Professor at Blairs College, to which he had been appointed 28th November 1867.
